Tribunal Practice
Dr Freckelton AO KC was a member of the Suitability Panel of Victoria appointed by the Governor in Council since its creation by the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic) in 2006 until 2016.
In July 2013 he was reappointed for a third term as a member of the Panel.

At a hearing the Suitability Panel can decide:
- whether an out-of-home-carer (eg a foster parent) should be disqualified from being on the register of carers; or
- whether a carer’s disqualification should be removed.
