The Disciplinary Appeals Board was established under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) to hear and determine appeals in relation to decisions of the Secretary made under section 2.4.59F (Unsatisfactory Performance) and section 2.4.61 (Misconduct) of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) from employees in the teaching service of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Since leaving the Board, Dr Freckelton has advised in relation to a range of disciplinary matters in relation to Victorian teachers, particularly being briefed by the Victorian Institute of Teachers (VIT).
